Just shy of his 86th birthday, which he would have celebrated on February 23, Mr. Dan’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him. His life was a testament to resilience, service, and a deep connection to the community he called home.
From Air Force to Stennis Space Center – A Remarkable Career
Mr. Dan’s journey began in Clifford, Illinois, and unfolded in Pekin alongside his father Donald Fraley, mother Wanda Fraley, and brother Ken Fraley. Straight out of high school, he served in the Air Force as a Weapons Maintenance Mechanic. Later, he contributed significantly to space exploration, working at Stennis Space Center as a Senior Electronic Technician. His dedication earned him multiple Oceanography Equipment Technician awards, leaving an indelible mark on the scientific community.
Music, Generosity, and Community Spirit
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Dan’s impact resonated in his community involvement. A hands-on contributor, he delivered Meals on Wheels, showcasing his compassionate nature. His love for technology led him to refurbish hundreds of computers, generously donating them to local schools in the Picayune area, emphasizing his commitment to education. A man of diverse talents, Mr. Dan’s musical journey mirrored the changing decades. From rocking with a band in the 60s and 70s to embracing country tunes in the 80s and 90s, his passion for music was boundless. In his later years, he found solace in gospel music, immersing himself in church activities. His acoustic and bass guitar melodies, coupled with his heartfelt vocals, created a soundtrack that will linger in the memories of those fortunate enough to have heard him play.

Daniel’s surviving family, including Regina Fraley, Andrea Fraley Wells, Sandra Fraley Stockton, and David Stockton, share the grief of losing a cherished member.
