Joy Arnold Obituary, Death- Joy Arnold (Haun), 68, of Gering, NE, passed away at Regional West Medical Center after a resilient fight against cancer. Her journey touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on her community. The community will gather on Tuesday, February 6th, at 10:30 AM at Gering Zion Church to pay tribute to Joy’s life. Pastor Tim Hebbert will officiate the funeral service, providing solace to the family and friends who share in the loss. A private burial for family members will follow at West Lawn Cemetery.

A Life of Love and Dedication
Born on March 23, 1955, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Joy was the daughter of Ray and Lucille Haun (Knaub). A graduate of Gering High School in 1973, she continued her education at Kearney State College. Joy embraced motherhood, raising three children during her marriage to Ray Ernst. Later, she devoted herself to Gering Public Schools and eventually found love again in her late husband, Kirk Arnold, with whom she shared 27 years of marriage.

Grandma Joy’s Legacy of Love and Laughter
Known as “Grandma Joy,” she was a selfless and loving figure to her children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her passion for golf was evident, whether on the course playing or working. In her free time, she indulged in gardening, a cherished love inherited from her father. Despite facing the challenges of cancer, Joy remained a devoted grandmother, traveling far and wide to support her family’s endeavors, particularly their sporting events at Gering schools. Her infectious laughter and warm smile touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Joy is survived by her children Andrea Ray (Matthew), Brad Ernst (Brianne), Cory Ernst (Brittany), and grandchildren Turner, Maddie, Ryland, Tatum Ray, Ellis, and Finnly Ernst. Her siblings Karen Bolzer, Sandy Gable, Allen (Mary Kay) Haun, and stepchildren Matthew, Cody, Tyler, Tyson, and Katie (Van Sicklen) Arnold also mourn her loss. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers-in-law Ron Bolzer and Don Gable. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Joy’s memory to Hope Lodge – Omaha or Gering Public Schools. Hope Lodge, where she found solace during her cancer treatment, held a special place in her heart. As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, let us celebrate the life and legacy of Joy Arnold, a beacon of love and laughter in the hearts of those who knew her.
