Richard Grant Death – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Cecil Grant on May 9, 2023, in Charleston, SC. Cecil, as he was affectionately known, touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and friends.

Cherished Family and Friends

Cecil will be deeply missed by his loving spouse, Elaine Francis; daughters, Chantelle (Scott Brock), Aisha, and Riann; grandson, Kane; siblings, Clotilda, Adolf, and Vincent; as well as nephews, nieces, numerous cousins, and dear friends. His presence brought joy and laughter to those around him, and his memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

 A Life of Service and Dedication

Born on December 22, 1950, in Willemstad, Curaçao, Cecil spent his formative years in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. After graduating from Emmanuel High School, he embarked on a career in public service, first as a teacher and later as a member of the police force. Cecil’s commitment to serving his community led him to immigrate to Canada in 1970, where he continued his service in law enforcement. He excelled in his role, graduating at the top of his class from police college and eventually retiring with 30 years of dedicated service as a Detective of the Toronto Police Service in 2002.

Cecil’s legacy of service, love, and dedication will forever be remembered by those who knew him. He touched the lives of many with his warmth, compassion, and unwavering integrity.
