Victoria G. Jackson Obituary, Death- Victoria G. Jackson, a cherished member of the Gibsonia community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 92. Born on Aug. 31, 1931, in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Norbert S. and Victoria Phillips Garbisch. Victoria, affectionately known as Vicky, was the beloved wife of the late Robert Gregg Jackson Sr., and a loving mother to Robert G. Jackson Jr. and Scott G. Jackson. Her passing leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and a life well-lived. Vicky was more than just a beloved wife and mother; she was the sister of the late Marjorie Anderson, Nadine Kurtz, and Norbert S. Garbisch Jr. Additionally, she held a special place in the hearts of her grandchildren, Robert G. Jackson III, Daniel Jackson, and Brett Jackson. The branches of her family tree extended far and wide, creating a network of love and support that defined her rich family life.

A Tapestry of Memories

Vicky’s childhood in Pennsylvania was a tapestry of wonderful memories that she often lovingly reminisced about. These cherished moments shaped her into the remarkable woman she became. Her dedication to family extended beyond her immediate relatives, reaching out to the community through her volunteer work with organizations like Hosanna Industries and St. Barnabas. Whether it was providing transportation for seniors or walking dogs at the Hilton Head Humane Association during her visits to South Carolina, Vicky’s compassion knew no bounds. Vicky led a vibrant life filled with diverse interests. An avid golfer and voracious reader, she found solace and joy in these activities. However, her true passion lay in doting on her grandchildren and her faithful companion, Pandy the dog. A proud and lifelong member of the Butler Country Club, she found camaraderie and friendship on the golf course, further enriching her already fulfilling life.

A Pillar of Faith and Community

Vicky’s devotion extended to her faith community, as she was an active and devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown. Her commitment was reflected in her service on the cemetery board, a testament to her dedication to the church and its members. For 32 years, she carried herself with characteristic poise and grace after the passing of her beloved husband, Robert Gregg Jackson Sr. Friends and well-wishers are invited to pay their respects to Victoria G. Jackson at the SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, with the Rev. Gary Weston and the Rev. Donn Ed co-officiating. A private burial will follow at Bakerstown Cemetery, providing a tranquil resting place for a life well-lived.
