Charlie was a proud lifelong resident of Hammonton, where he attended Hammonton High School, graduating with the class of 1974. He continued his education at Rutgers University in Camden, where he pursued his passion for mathematics and graduated with a degree in the field in 1978. Throughout his life, Charlie valued education and the pursuit of knowledge, instilling these values in those around him.

He began his career as an assistant store manager at Kmart in Berlin before transitioning to a role with the State of New Jersey. Starting as a programmer in 1984, Charlie worked his way up to become a senior manager before his retirement in 2018.
