John Ozelski Obituary, Death Cause – John Albert Ozelski, a beloved member of the Elkland, PA community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the age of 65. He was at his home, surrounded by his devoted family. John was born on November 2, 1958, in Shamokin, PA, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Sabol) Ozelski. John was known for his dedication and hard work as the Operations Manager at Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation. His commitment extended beyond his professional life; he was an active member of Saint Joseph’s Church in Shelton, CT, where he contributed his time and energy to various community initiatives.

A Man of Many Passions

John lived life to the fullest and enjoyed a wide range of hobbies. From hunting and Nascar to football and golfing, he embraced every opportunity for adventure and excitement. His love for slow-pitch softball was matched only by his enthusiasm for coaching football and Tee ball, where he shared his passion for sports with younger generations. John also had a talent for grilling and cooking, delighting family and friends with his culinary creations.

A Devoted Volunteer Firefighter

In addition to his professional and personal pursuits, John dedicated many years of service as a volunteer firefighter. His selfless commitment to protecting his community was a testament to his caring and compassionate nature. Whether in his professional role or his volunteer work, John left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. Above all else, John was a devoted family man who cherished his role as “Papaw.” He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl “Gammy” (Ljungquist) Ozelski, and their three sons, John Jr., Stephen, and Thomas. His grandchildren, Ryan, Evan, Cole, Mila, Lilly Jean, and Emma Rose, brought him immense joy and happiness.
