Fitch, who departed this world at the tender age of 22 on Monday, February 5, 2024. Born in Niskayuna, Laurenz brought joy and warmth to those around him, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of family, friends, and the community. Laurenz, the cherished son of Laurence S. and Maria E. Isabella Fitch, was a 2019 graduate of Colonie High School. During his high school years, Laurenz was not only known for his academic achievements but also for his active involvement in the school’s Volleyball and Track teams. His passion for sports was evident, and he approached each endeavor with enthusiasm and dedication.

Post-graduation, Laurenz followed his love for cooking, embarking on a culinary journey that brought him to Texas Roadhouse as a Baker. His culinary skills flourished further when he joined the team at Lanie’s CafĂ© in Colonie. Laurenz’s culinary pursuits were not merely a profession but a manifestation of his creative spirit and love for sharing with others. Laurenz found joy in various pursuits, including gaming, anime, writing, and the arts. His diverse interests reflected a soul that appreciated the richness of life’s experiences. Beyond his individual pursuits, Laurenz valued the importance of connections and relationships. He cherished his family and friends, finding joy in sharing his passions with them.

A particular highlight in Laurenz’s life was his love for playing Dungeons & Dragons and Magic the Gathering games with friends. These activities were more than mere pastimes; they were the threads that wove the fabric of cherished memories and camaraderie. Laurenz recently realized a dream by attending a fighting game expo in Las Vegas, embarking on a cross-country trip alongside his best friends. This adventure encapsulated his love for exploration, shared experiences, and the bonds forged through shared passions.

Laurenz X. Fitch lived a life defined by joy, a loving heart, and empathy for others. He radiated positivity and warmth, leaving an enduring impact on all those fortunate enough to have known him. His untimely departure leaves a void in the hearts of his loved ones, but the memories of his vibrant spirit will forever linger. He is survived by his siblings, Chance, Lexington, and Lacey Fitch. Laurenz was the grandson of Thomas M. Fitch and the late Lauren Cowan (Fitch), and James E. and Deborah Jo Isabella. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends also mourn his passing.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to Laurenz’s family on Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Church, 1235 State Street, Schenectady. The Rite of Catholic Committal will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
