During his working years, John was employed with various organizations, showcasing his dedication and versatility. From Versa Services to Glen Haven Manor, Campbell’s Family Restaurant, and Aramark, he left an indelible mark wherever he went. Even after retirement, John didn’t slow down. He ventured into consulting work and found joy in selling appliances at Home Depot, embracing every opportunity to engage with people.
A Life Well-Lived: Hobbies and Joys
In his spare time, John found joy in simple pleasures and meaningful hobbies. His cherished moments were spent with his beloved wife, Carole, whom he affectionately called “Honey.” Together, they created countless memories filled with laughter and love. John was also an avid golfer, relishing the camaraderie of his buddies in the Senior Men’s League at Mountain Woods Golf Club. His passion for craftsmanship was evident in his wooden models, reflecting his meticulous attention to detail. Whether capturing moments through his lens or exploring new worlds through books, John’s curiosity knew no bounds. He found solace in nature, often taking his faithful companion, Jiggs, for walks in the neighborhood, cherishing the tranquility of those moments.
A Heart of Gold: Generosity and Kindness
John was more than a friendly face; he embodied kindness and generosity in every aspect of his life. His selflessness knew no bounds, as he consistently put others’ needs before his own. His dedication to serving his community was evident through his volunteer work as a leader with Scouts Canada. Throughout the 90s, he devoted his time and energy to the 9th and 13th New Glasgow (NS) chapters, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of countless youths. John’s door was always open, offering his guidance and advice freely to those in need, embodying the true spirit of compassion and empathy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carole Courchesne, who shared in his joys and supported him through life’s challenges.
