Walter J. LeDoux Obituary, Death – On January 17, 2024, our beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, Walter J. LeDoux, peacefully passed away at the age of 74 at his home in Keizer, Oregon. Walt’s departure leaves behind a proud and grateful family, as well as a community of admirers who mourn his loss and celebrate his remarkable life.
A Cherished Family Man
Born on December 23, 1949, in Woodburn, Oregon, Walt was the beloved son of Joseph and Lorraine LeDoux. He found immense joy in fatherhood, and his daughter, Jaclyn LeDoux Lyman, and her husband, Nicholas Lyman, brought him endless happiness throughout his life.
In addition to Jaclyn, Walt is survived by his brother, John LeDoux, and sisters JoAnn LeDoux and Annette LeDoux. He was preceded in death by his brother Timothy LeDoux but remains cherished as “Uncle Wally” by nieces and nephews, along with their respective families.
A Distinguished Career
Walt was a proud graduate of Central Catholic High School and furthered his education at Mt. Hood Community College. In 1967, he enlisted in the Oregon Air National Guard, where he served as an airborne avionics technician and later as an Air Weapons Director. Walt’s dedication and leadership earned him the rank of Major before retiring in 1989.
In addition to his military service, Walt co-founded Preloc Security Systems with his brothers in 1976 and later founded Plexsys Interface Products, Inc. in 1986. He was a visionary entrepreneur who made significant contributions to the digital modeling and simulation software industry.
A Passion for the Outdoors
Walt was passionate about outdoor activities, particularly water skiing, white-water rafting, and fishing. He shared his love for these pursuits generously with family and friends, finding solace and joy in the natural world. He was also known for his enthusiasm for snow skiing, bow hunting, and mushroom hunting, as well as his alleged sasquatch sightings, which added an element of adventure to his life.
