She was the cherished daughter of the late Lester F. and Joy Zelda (Lee) Stierwalt, and one of three siblings. On December 6th, 1957, Georgia married the love of her life, Earl Franklin Fishel, at Liberty Church. Their union was a true testament to enduring love and companionship, lasting nearly sixty-six years until Earl’s passing on September 27th, 2023. Together, they shared a lifetime of precious memories and unwavering devotion to each other, creating a legacy of love that will forever live on in the hearts of their loved ones.

A Devoted Mother

Georgia and Earl were blessed with their only child, Scottie W. “Bud” Fishel, on February 9th, 1967. Georgia dedicated herself wholeheartedly to caring for Scottie from the moment he was born until his passing on August 24th, 2022. Her love, dedication, and unwavering care for Scottie were extraordinary, and he was the light of her life. Georgia’s role as a mother was the cornerstone of her existence, and her love for Scottie knew no bounds.

Georgia took great pride in her role as a homemaker, wife, and mother, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. She and Earl cherished family vacations with Scottie and cherished moments spent together on their family farm. Georgia is survived by her brother, Johnny Stierwalt of Martinsville, IN; sisters-in-law, Doris Stierwalt of Paragon, IN, and Juanita Fishel of Clayton, IN; brother-in-law, Emmett Fishel of Hazelwood, IN; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends and caregivers, Bill and Karen Duckworth of Paragon.
