Dustin Moretz Obituary, Death – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dustin Adrian Moretz, a beloved resident of Charlotte, North Carolina. At the age of 46, Dustin peacefully departed this world on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Hospice of Union County in Monroe, North Carolina, surrounded by his family and friends. Dustin’s journey began on May 22, 1977, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, born to Dr. Joseph Alfred Moretz III and Judy Bloice Hanna Moretz. Throughout his life, Dustin exhibited qualities of love, compassion, and resilience that left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
A dedicated employee at UPS, Dustin found joy in his work and approached life with an infectious smile. Despite the challenges posed by lupus, he remained strong-willed and determined, never allowing the illness to overshadow his grace and warmth. In addition to his admirable work ethic, Dustin had a passion for various activities. From attending concerts to enjoying skiing adventures, he embraced life to the fullest. His spare time was often spent with friends, creating memories that will forever be cherished.
Dustin is survived by his loving parents, Dr. Joseph Alfred Moretz III and Judy Bloice Hanna Moretz, along with his stepmother Lynn Lowery Moretz. He leaves behind a legacy of love and family, including his brothers Joseph (Aleta) Alfred Moretz IV, Aaron (Jaclyn) Krendel Moretz, Nathaniel James Moretz, and his sisters Samantha (Tim) Moretz Barbrey, Katrina (Scott) Ann Moretz Day, and Christina Lee Moretz. His memory will also be cherished by his eight nieces.
A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Saturday, February 10th, at 2:30 pm at SouthPark Church, located at 3151 Apex Drive, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28211. Friends and family are invited to attend this service and join in celebrating Dustin’s remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Joe & Thelma Moretz Scholarship Fund at Lenoir-Rhyne University in memory of Dustin Adrian Moretz. This gesture reflects Dustin’s commitment to education and creates a lasting legacy in his honor.
