Jon Daryl Parris Obituary, Death Cause –Jon Daryl Parris, a beloved member of the Geneva, Illinois community, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 19th, 2024, at the age of 81. His departure leaves a void in the lives of those who knew him, but his memory will continue to inspire and comfort his children, family, and friends. Jon was born on July 16th, 1942, in Sandwich, Illinois, to Alfred and Jeannette (Gord) Parris. He grew up surrounded by love and laughter in a close-knit family alongside his sister, Joan (Robert) Allsup. Jon was particularly close to his nieces, Kelly Allsup of Batavia, IL, Kari Mills of Cary, IL, and his nephew, Kevin Allsup of St. Charles, IL. Despite the geographical distance, Jon maintained strong bonds with his extended family throughout his life.
A Loving Father and Husband
Jon was a devoted husband to his late wife, Kathleen Parris, whom he cherished for 26 years until her passing. Together, they shared a bond built on mutual respect, love, and unwavering support for one another. Jon’s role as a father was central to his identity, and he took great pride in raising his two children, Emily Parris of Geneva, IL, and Jacob (Meghan) Parris of Iowa Falls, IA. In honor of his memory, a visitation was held on Saturday, February 3rd, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at Yurs Funeral Home, located at 1771 W State St., Geneva, IL. While saying goodbye is never easy, Jon’s family finds solace in the knowledge that he is at peace and reunited with his beloved wife and other departed loved ones. A private burial will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, where Jon will be laid to rest in the embrace of his hometown. Jon Daryl Parris leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion that will continue to inspire those who knew him. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories he created and the lives he touched.
