Harry Sickler Obituary, Death – In the quiet town of Coudersport, a profound sense of loss envelops the community as they bid farewell to a cherished resident, Harry C. Sickler II. At the age of 63, Harry peacefully passed away in his home on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, after displaying immense courage in his battle against cancer. His life, marked by dedication to his profession, love for his community, and compassion for his fellow beings, will be remembered with deep fondness.
Harry C. Sickler II was born on July 16, 1960, in Berwick, the son of Harry C. and Shirley Kramer Sickler. A proud graduate of Coudersport Area High School, Class of 1978, Harry went on to pursue a career in healthcare, graduating as a radiologic technologist from Williamsport Area College. His commitment to his profession led him to a fulfilling career at the former Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, now UPMC Cole, where he served as a sonographer and radiologic technologist until his well-deserved retirement.
Harry’s dedication to healthcare extended beyond his professional life. Following his retirement, he generously devoted his time and efforts to the Potter County Food Bank, serving as its manager. His commitment to community well-being exemplified the compassion that defined his character. In addition to his commitment to community service, Harry found joy in simple pleasures, particularly in the companionship of his beloved fur babies, Kali and Kassi. His love for animals reflected the tender-hearted nature that endeared him to many.
A member of Christian Missionary Alliance in Harrison Valley, Harry’s spiritual journey was an integral part of his life. His faith provided strength and solace throughout his courageous battle with cancer. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 29 years, Tamra M. “Tammy” Lewis Sickler, his parents, and his brothers Randy Sickler of Coudersport and Gary Sickler of Waynesboro, Va. His brother-in-law, Michael Lewis, and many nieces and nephews also join in remembering and honoring Harry.
To pay respects to Harry and support his family, calling hours will be held at Coudersport Alliance Church, 7 Alliance Ave., Coudersport. Friends, family, and well-wishers are invited to attend the calling hours on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., as well as on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Kevin Cornish, will follow at 3:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Sweden Hill Cemetery, Coudersport. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harrison Valley Alliance Church, 217 E. Main St., Harrison Valley, PA 1692. The gesture reflects Harry’s commitment to community and echoes the impact he had on the lives of those around him.
