Judith Raught Obituary, Death – Eldred and the broader community are mourning the loss of a beloved resident, Judith A. Raught, who peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Bradford Ecumenical Home. Born on July 28, 1940, in Olean, N.Y., Judith’s life journey was characterized by love, creativity, and a deep commitment to family. The daughter of Chester and Thelma Reigel Rice, Judith found her lifelong partner in Thomas R. Raught, whom she married on December 3, 1966, in Coryville.

Their union was one marked by shared joys and adventures until Thomas’s passing on April 20, 2022. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. Judith’s academic journey culminated in her graduation from Smethport High School in 1959. In her younger years, she worked at Zippo and later part-time at Dexter-Hysol. Her career choices reflected her industrious spirit and commitment to contributing to her community. Beyond her professional endeavors, Judith had a passion for the arts. Her artistic talents and love for creativity led her to serve as the president of the Residents Society, where she shared her vision and enthusiasm with fellow residents.

Her contributions to the community were a testament to her commitment to making a positive impact on those around her. A lover of James Bond movies, crosswords, puzzles, needlework, and arts and crafts, Judith embraced a diverse range of interests that enriched her life and those she touched. Her creativity shone through in every aspect of her being, leaving an indelible mark on the community she called home. Judith’s dedication to family was evident in the pride she took in her grandchildren. Spending time with them brought her immense joy, and she cherished the moments she shared with Reilly Raught, Zebulin Raught,

Kaitlin Raught, Calley Raught, Hanna Brunner, and Adam Brunner. Her role as a grandmother was filled with love, laughter, and a genuine interest in their lives. Visitation to pay respects and offer condolences to the grieving family will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Frame Funeral Home. Following the visitation, funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home, with Pastor Rick Price officiating. The final resting place for Judith will be Rose Hill Cemetery in Smethport. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bradford Ecumenical Home Activities Department at 100 St. Francis Drive, Bradford, PA 16701.
