Lois Shields Obituary, Death Of Lois Shields Sent Shock Wave o Family and Friends
Lois Shields Obituary, Death – Lois Jean Shields, a cherished resident of Orange, peacefully departed this life on January 27, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on October 8, 1932, in New Haven, Lois was the beloved daughter of the late David and Madelaine Grillo, and the late wife of Joseph Patrick Shields. Lois’s roots in West Haven shaped her upbringing, and the friendships she cultivated there endured throughout most of her life. Her career at U.S. Motors spanned many years, but her true passion lay in the tranquility of her home and the beauty of her garden. Lois found solace in the simple joys of observing birds flit through the air and chipmunks playfully darting amidst the foliage that embraced her residence.
Left to cherish Lois’s memory are her loving children, Lisa Shields and Keith (Sheri) Shields, as well as three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The warmth of her presence will be dearly missed by her extended family, including numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Grillo. In honoring Lois’s wishes, private services will be held, providing an intimate setting for family and close friends to pay their respects. The compassionate care of the family is being overseen by the dedicated staff at Cody-White Funeral Home, located at 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Dave Cosgrove Animal Shelter, reflecting Lois’s compassion for animals. This gesture serves as a fitting tribute to her caring nature and her love for the furry companions who found comfort in her presence. As we bid farewell to Lois, may we carry forward the lessons of simplicity, love, and appreciation for life’s gentle moments that she so beautifully embodied. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the tranquility she found in her cherished home and garden.
