Born on November 16, 1930, in Union County, MS, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Arpie Myrtle Melton and Ruben Vestle Hill. She was a woman of many talents and accomplishments, known for her dedication to both her family and her career. Mrs. Jones was the former owner of Happy House Nursery School and found fulfillment in her work as a Real Estate Agent. She approached every aspect of her life with passion and commitment, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She served as a Cottage Leader for the North Mississippi Regional Center, providing care and support to those in need. Mrs. Sammie Ruth Hill Jones is survived by her son, Barry Jones, and his wife, Christy, of Oxford, MS; daughter-in-law, Terry Jones of Grenada, MS; brother, Ralph Lamar Hill, and his wife, Nan, of New Albany, MS; six grandchildren, Carrie Nolen (Clay), Taylor Jones (Fair), Charles Jones (Mary Katherine), Michael Jones (Jill), William Jones, and Sam Jones (Sami); as well as eight great-grandchildren, Parker Nolen, Cooper Nolen, Briley Nolen, Kylie Nolen, Leo Jones, Lily Jones, Stella Jones, and Olivia Jones.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ruben Devon Jones; her son, Rickey Jones; and her sister, Kay Hill Hawks.
